The concept of god has been described in Berserk as the idea of evil, TheIdeaOfEvil aka god turns out to be the creation of mankind. We desire to reason, and wisdom that leads to infinite pleasure and happiness and that's why the gods are created.

But humans in nature are selfish, they do not know what they truly want. In a way, they have created the god to pour all their devious needs, desire, and guilt.

To god, an action of one man, kindness or sinful can represent humankind as a whole. No matter how good you are on a moral scale, you cannot decide the fact that those who you view as evil, could have been you. You and I are all the same.
